Novak Djokovic wants to continue the winning impetus and end the ongoing season on a high. The Serbian is all set to take part in the Paris Masters and the Nitto ATP Finals and he wants to keep going strong.
Djokovic recently made a return to the tour after winning his 21st Grand Slam title at Wimbledon following a three-month gap. The former World No.1 could not take part in the US Open and the other US and Canadian tournaments due to his unvaccinated status.
Subsequently, the 35-year-old made a roaring comeback as he won the Tel Aviv and Astana Open. Djokovic has now won 90 ATP titles in his glorious career and wants to keep going strong.
“I am going to Paris, preparing for the last two tournaments of the year, the Masters in Paris and the ATP Finals in Turin,” Djokovic said to media outlet Sportal.
“I feel good. These last two competitions, in Astana and Tel Aviv, and the titles won, raised my level of self-confidence as well as motivation. It’s kind of natural and normal that when you win, then you want to play more and continue that streak.”
“I hope I can finish this season in the best possible way because this year was very unusual, different, and quite challenging mentally and emotionally for me,” he continued. “I’m glad that I’m feeling good again on the court and I’m satisfied with my game.”
Djokovic added that he will give preference to Grand Slam titles in the future.
“Somehow, I have now entered that phase of my career, and I have already announced that I will choose tournaments a little differently and that the priority in my schedule will be Grand Slams, compared to other categories of tournaments,” he added.
The Serbian is still at the top of his fitness and it is expected that he can continue playing for the next three to four years.
