Roger Federer once again holds the RF logo that was associated with his clothing for most of his illustrious career.
Federer hasn’t used the logo on his shirts since he switched clothing companies in 2018. Back then Federer began wearing Uniqlo in an agreement that was rumored to be for $30 million per year. The RF logo was still licensed to Nike (his previous apparel company) and he still wears their shoes, though he doesn’t have an official sponsorship agreement with them.
Federer or Uniqlo have not indicated what their plans for the logo are. They could use it now that it has been authorized or just continue without it. The delay to get it back was to allow the sale of the rest of the Federer apparel from Nike.
Ranked No. 4 in the world, Roger Federer is currently off the tour following knee surgery. Federer is scheduled to start play again during the grass court season.
“I hope rather sooner than later, that Nike can be nice and helpful in the process to bring it over to me…” Federer said at a Wimbledon press conference two years ago.
“It’s also something that was very important for me, for the fans really. Look, it’s the process. But the good news is that it will come with me at one point. They are my initials. They are mine. The good thing is it’s not theirs forever.”
