Former World no.1 Andy Murray has admitted that he has started to gain confidence and feels his game is getting better in the recent past. Murray won his Round of 16 match against Canada’s Vasek Pospisil in straight sets by 6-3, 6-3 to book his quarterfinal berth in the ongoing Moselle Open.
Murray admitted that he was confused in a lot of matches after recovering from his hip injury but slowly he is gaining his confidence. The results are palpable for Murray who has had a hard time on the court after going through the major surgery.
“For me [compared to] the last few years, this period has been the most tournaments I’ve played really, and my body feels good,” Murray said after defeating Pospisil. “I’m starting to gain just a little bit of confidence with each match and starting to see the points and how I want to play them again.
“Which is great. There’s been times in the last year where I’ve been a little bit confused, not seeing how the points are developing and stuff. “For me, that was always a strong part of my game and it made me feel quite uncomfortable on the court when I was feeling that way. “So, I’m starting to get that back. The results are coming and my tennis is getting better.”
Andy Murray is certainly looking more confident and he will look to continue the good show. This is Murray’s 10th event of 2021 and he has played 20 matches in the ongoing season thus far.
Murray has come back from a big injury and there is no doubt that he has some fuel left in his tank. The Briton also defeated Ugo Humbert in three sets in the First Round match.
Murray has worked hard on his game and the results are palpable for him. The 34-year will next face the no. 1 seed Hubert Hurkacz of Poland in the quarterfinal of Moselle Open.
