Kylian Mbappe finds himself once again on the headlines as he has again done some antics which has left his club Paris Saint Germain and the manager Christophe Galtier in some shame. Therefore, looking at his actions former France international Emmanuel Petit has criticized the youngster for his antics and feels that he has no understanding of the reality of what lies in benefit for himself and his club. Mbappe has always put himself ahead of the interests of the club.
Petit lashed out at the Frenchman as he has tolerate enough of his antics over the last few months. He shared how Mbappe always puts himself above the institution and maybe things have gone to his head and hence he is reacting in such way. “He annoys everyone today. He makes it personal all the time. He even puts himself above the institution. Has everything that has happened in recent months gone to his head? You were on the right side when you arrived at PSG, then you were on the left. Now you are in the centre. But it’s never fixed on the pitch. The players up front spend their time moving around and switching in their respective areas,” Petit told RMC Sport.
The entire story started when Mbappe posted an Instagram story where he used the hashtag ‘Pivot Gang’ which has been interpreted as a target towards the manager Galtier who has deployed him as a single striker upfront. However he was told at the start of the season that PSG will play with two strikers upfront with a man right behind them to facilitate and not the usual front three that the Parisians play generally.
Galtier has not reacted much on the topic as he tried to put water on the fire by saying that it is a reaction from Mbappe at the heat of the moment and happened in disappointment.
This is exactly the reason why Petit has pointed out that Mbappe’s behavior clearly shows there is a lack of respect as he has time and again targeted people from the club including the coach. “The club is more important than any one player. Today, Mbappé’s statements are irrelevant and show a lack of respect for the institution, but also for his partners. Because by saying that, he is targeting his coach but also certain players. I find that regrettable,” Petit highlighted.
PSG recently drew 1-1 against Benfica in the Champions League and Kylian Mbappe scored the only goal for the French outfit from the spot but sadly could not lead them to victory.
