Royal Challengers Bangalore captain, Virat Kohli, is excited to have guided his team to win over Mumbai Indians in the ongoing India Premier League 9IPL) in the United Arab Emirates.
The match was tied at 201/2 and 201/5, respectively. RCB carried the day through Super Over.
The captain, who described the game as a roller-coaster game, said his teammates played well, and they were patient in the middle.
As the game went down to the wire, Kohli said RCB got a close victory after stepping onto the field and take responsibility.
While noting that it was a good match-up against Jasprit Jasprit Bumrah, he said such a quality cricket is what people would love to watch.
He added that the changes made allowed Washington Sundar to bowl in the PP, and it paid off.
Although Gurkeerat Singh Mann didn’t get a chance to bat, Kohli lauded the lads for showing good character.
He also described the performance of Navdeep Saini in the Super Over as outstanding. He said with the cricketer using the yorkers and wide balls to good effect, it should boost the team in the future.
Also speaking after the encounter, Sundar expressed happiness for the job done for the team. He also lauded Saini for doing an amazing job, which restricted MI to 7 runs.
Reacting to his team’s loss, MI’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, said his team had a great game but were not in the game at all after winning the toss and decided to field.
He said they didn’t start well while batting, but lauded Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard for their brilliant contributions.
Thinking they could successfully chase 200 with the quality of their batting line-up, Sharma said MI couldn’t get the momentum. He said this made them struggle in the first 6-7 overs, leading to the loss of three wickets.
He further lauded RCB for holding their nerves, revealing that Kishan got drained out, making him uncomfortable.
