Indications have shown that Tiger Woods is contemplating featuring in Augusta.
This is following his dismal performance in defense of the Zozo Championship last week. His performance was made up of pitiful viewing.
Wood, who made his professional debut in 1997, has always practiced at home to enjoy rest and seclusion before participating in Augusta. But this time around, the 44-year-old is out of form like never before.
He finished in the 72nd position at Sherwood Country Club, in a championship that featured 75 players. This was the same tournament he had won five times and finished runner-up on five other occasions.
In his last seven consecutive tournaments, Woods has failed to go above a top-35 finish.
Meanwhile, it is not only the American that is struggling for form, but another leading man Rory McIlroy is also having the same issue.
Since the end of the lockdown, the Northern Irish golfer has been recording too many bogeys to be in contention for a title after recording 29 birdies last week, which was a career-high for him.
This means that McIlroy is not considered a favourite for the two tournaments in Las Vegas and California as his preparations for Augusta was laden with errors.
He has been featured in dozens of tournaments since the game’s return from coronavirus break and without a top-six finish. This is a stark contrast to the seven events he featured in before the COVID-19 enforced break, where he was in the top six each time.
Meanwhile, McIlroy will be heading to Augusta later in the week to see how the course will play than its usual April setting.
On the other hand, Wood has failed to take advantage of the postponement of the tournament as his physical shape was not top notch back in March.
McIlroy will be under the radar as many of his supporters will hope he can show his brilliance again on the course.
