Real Madrid has been with another “Eden Hazard” injury problem for the umpteenth time this season as reports claim that the former Chelsea forward will be out of the Los Blancos’s next game in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old Eden Hazard has played just 25 times in the La Liga for Real Madrid since 2019 when he joined the club from Chelsea.
The latest injury problem for the Belgian is disappointing to the French manager who has said he “can’t explain” the latest injury setback.
“It’s something new. I can’t really give any more of an explanation, Something’s up, because he was never injured in his entire career [before joining Real] or there were very few injuries. We want to help him and hope he’s back as soon as possible. I want to be positive and hope that it’s not too much of a problem. We’re going to try and figure out why it’s happening but right now we can’t explain it.” said Zidane.
Hazard has missed 25 games this season in all competitions and it is the sixth time he will be out of action this season.
Surprisingly, Hazard only returned from a muscle problem at the weekend playing 15 minutes in the team’s comeback 2-1 win over Elche.
Real Madrid will be without the Belgian on Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League home last-16 second leg with Atalanta while Sergio Ramos is fit to feature after featuring against Elche.
However, Brazilian midfielder Casemiro will miss out on the second leg due to a suspension from cards accumulated.
Real Madrid won the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clashes with Atalanta 1-0 courtesy of a late Ferland Mendy’s strike.
The Los Blancos are also six points away from Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid on the La Liga table.
