Roma midfielder, Nicolo Zaniolo could be joining Juventus provided Paulo Dybala leaves the Turin club as a free agent.
The Bianconeri is also linked with Zaniolo and Sassuolo striker Giacomo Raspadori.
Dybala will become a free agent on June 30, and negotiations on an extension of his contract seemed to have reached a positive conclusion at €10m per season plus bonuses.
However, the Turin club changed discussions, saying further talks will hold with Dybala until after the January transfer window after Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina.
Since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Max Allegri’s men have been lacking a focal point. With the Serbian coming from Fiorentina for €75m plus bonuses, it is believed that Juventus may soon be firing from all cylinders again.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus have already set their sights on two possible new entries in Turin over the summer.
Zaniolo has long been on Bianconeri’s radar for a while. To prove their seriousness, they had held negotiations talks with the player’s entourage in December.
Meanwhile, Zaniolo’s current deal expires on June 30, 2024.
Speaking at a press conference, Giallorossi director Tiago Pinto confessed there was “no guarantee” that Zaniolo will still be at Roma next season.
Juventus’ other target, Raspadori has been used as a False 9 this season by Sassuolo but prefers to drop off the main centre-forward.
In another development, Borja Mayoral has sent a message to Roma coach Jose Mourinho after completing a loan move to Getafe.
The 24-year-old striker who said he felt angry at being sidelined at the Serie A club said he deserves more playing time.
He has spent 18 months on a two-year loan from Real Madrid with the option to buy for €20m.
After Mourinho’s arrival, Mayoral ell rapidly down the pecking order as he was only able to play only 13 games, almost all of them as a substitute, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
Mayoral, who spent 32 minutes on the pitch this season at his presentation said he has a lot of pent-up energy after the season he had at Roma.
he is, therefore, determined to prove that he is a good striker as he aimed to play for the Spanish national team ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
