Premier League club, Wolves are interested in bringing Azzedine Ounahi to the Molineux.
According to reports, Wolves are showing interest in the Moroccan midfielder.
Ounahi has been one of the team’s stars that recently put Africa on the world map by reaching the FIFA World Cup semifinal before being ousted by defending champions France on Wednesday.
90min reports that the interest has drawn significant attention following a string of impressive performances at the World Cup.
Despite losing against Les Bleus, Ounahi put in an outstanding performance in midfield alongside Sofyan Amrabat.
Wolves will need Ounahi for his quick feet and ball-carrying ability. This has also made many teams show an interest in him.
According to 90min, other clubs monitoring him include European giants like Barcelona, Inter, Juventus, Lyon, and Paris Saint-Germain.
Putting up such a performance at 22 years old, he is undoubtedly destined for a great club.
Meanwhile, premier league sides like Leicester City, Newcastle United, Southampton, and West Ham United could also fight for his signature.
Having seen his performances in Qatar, Ounahi, under contract at Angers until the summer of 2026, will command a huge fee.
The Ligue 1 club could well demand a huge fee. It’s an advantage to use this opportunity to make a huge gain on the promising talent.
He will also have another opportunity to show his mettle when Morroco play Croatia in the third-place match on Saturday.
He will be a good fit for Wanderers, planning life after Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, and possibly even Matheus Nunes.
Neves and Nunes have to transfer speculation surrounding them. Therefore, their future at the club is in doubt as they have been linked with exits from the club over the past couple of months.
The ageing Moutinho may be playing his final season at Molineux at 36.
This makes Ounahi a good option should Wolves buy him. But they would need to compete with other clubs for his signature, as Ounahi has been brilliant for his country at the World Cup.
Although Angers are rooted at the bottom of the league table, the midfielder has been performing well for them.
According to sky sports data, he is behind only Lionel Messi (47) in the French top flight for the number of successful dribbles (37). He even has 10 more than Kylian Mbappe.
With the January transfer looming, he may move and make an exciting sign for Wanderers.
