West Ham could take advantage of Jesse Lingard’s contract situation to bring the player back to the club.
Lingard is out of contract with the Red Devils, and the club has not made him an offer, so he will have to find a new club for next season.
The Hammers had a great season finishing seventh in the league and reaching the semi-finals of the Europa League. The club has established itself as a powerhouse in the Premier, and they look to continue to be competitive next season.
Lingard shined with the Hammers during his loan spell in the 2020-21 season; in fact it is the club with which the player has had the best performance, scoring 9 goals in 16 appearances.
In addition, the player became one of the fans’ favorites and the locker room, generating excellent relationships with his teammates.
West Ham boss David Moyes knows Lingard from their time together at Manchester United and would be delighted to welcome him to the London Stadium.
Lingard’s spell at West Ham was so impressive that many hoped the player would stay at the club.
For example, QPR striker Charlie Austin told talkSPORT that Lingard made a mistake by staying at United.
“With Jesse Lingard, staying at Man United for the following year, I think he’s taken two or three steps back, I really do.
“His stock of him was so high at West Ham, every week goals or assists. He went there and really changed their season, his stock of him was so high.
“Then he wants to go back to Manchester United and fight for his place and unfortunately he just couldn’t get it right, and this year it’s not worked out and now you’re looking at it, what’s the possibilities for Jesse Lingard now?”
