Manchester City forward Erling Haaland was delighted after the club were crowned as Premier League champions as Arsenal suffered a 1-0 loss against Nottm Forest. The Cityzens also won their Sunday match against Chelsea by 1-0.
The Sky Blues have been consistent as this was their fifth PL title in the last six years. The Norwegian stated that they were chasing the title for the whole season and it is a huge relief to finally accomplish the main goal.
Meanwhile, Haaland played an instrumental role in taking Manchester City to glory as the youngster scored 36 goals in 34 Premier League matches thus far. Furthermore, the 22-year-old provided seven assists this season in EPL.
In fact, the Gunners stayed at the top of the points table for almost 240 days but Manchester City were able to leapfrog them in the business end of the season.
Speaking in a video posted by Football Daily on Twitter, Haaland said, “I saw a stat of Arsenal being 240-something days top of the table, and we were like 20. We were chasing the whole season and to get hold of it was such a relief.”
Apart from winning the Premier League crown, Manchester City are also in the race for their first-ever UEFA Champions League title. Furthermore, they will take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final on June 3. City will take on Inter Milan in the UCL final on June 10.
Ergo, they can become the second English club after Manchester United in 1999 to win the treble. City has been coming up with a collective show and they will be looking to carry the good show in the next two finals.
Manchester City next play Brighton on Wednesday night at the Falmer Stadium.
