Paris Saint-Germain are in great form in the Ligue 1 and they want to carry that form to the Champions Legaue in their upcoming clash against Bayern Munich. The second leg is at the Allianz Arena and the hosts will have a 1-0 advantage following their win against PSG in Paris. However Lionel Messi feels that the Parisians are ready to face the German champions considering their recent form.
Christophe Galtier’s men are now in a three match winning streak and Messi feels that they have shown the world in their match against Marseille that they can beat anyone on their given day in any part of the world.
He shares that the clear objective is to play to their strengths as and hopefully turn the tables on the tie and qualify for the next round, beating Bayern. “It’s true, we are fighting for the title. I think that in the last game against [Olympique] Marseille we improved, and the team got stronger with these wins. Now, we will try to do things right and we’ll give everything to try to turn the tables on Bayern and qualify. That’s everyone’s objective,” Messi shared his thoughts on the upcoming clash.
He understands that the team needs to reach Munich with a certain mindset and admits that it is a very difficult venue to win for an away team. “It’s important to arrive at the match in this state of mind. Now we’re going to Munich, where we’re going to play a very tough match, very difficult, just like the first one. Everything will be decided on small details, especially as it is very difficult to win in their stadium,” He added.
Messi asserted that the Ligue 1 leaders will leave no stone unturned in their upcoming clash and he feels that if they do things right they will make a comeback in the second leg. “But I think that if we do things right, we are capable of turning things around. We want to continue our journey in the Champions League. And that’s what we will try to do,” the Argentine talisman concluded.
PSG will be missing their superstar Neymar who will undergo ligament repair surgery on his ankle and it will keep him out of action for atleast four months. However Kylian Mbappe who recently became the PSG top scorer surpassing Edinson Cavani will look to take center stage in this game. The Frenchman will have Messi’s support as they look to pul off a heist in Munich to keep their Champions League campaign alive.
