There was a record-breaking night for summer signing Arnaut Danjuma who scored late to become Villarreal’s all-time record scorer in the UEFA Champions League with five goals, which he scored all this season.

The Dutch forward only joined the Yellow Submarines from Bournemouth this summer and had made an instant impact. Danjuma expressed that the feeling is indescribable, for his personal record and also for his team’s effort in knocking out the Old Ladies.

“The feeling is unbelievable, I’m just overcome with happiness. I’m always confident in myself. I work really hard and if you work hard you get the rewards. I’m really happy with the result and to be on the scoresheet – it’s a great win.” Arnault Danjuma said.

It is the third consecutive season that Juventus will be getting knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the round of 16, in 2020 they got knocked out by Lyon while Porto eliminated the Italians in 2021.

It is the third time that Villarreal will be making the quarter-finals of the competition in their history. Furthermore, they also have Spanish company in the last eight, as they join Atletico Madrid, who beat Manchester United 1-0 at the Old Trafford and 2-1 on aggregate to qualify for the next round.
