Ever since Erik ten Hag was appointed as Manchester United manager there have been several rumours popping up regarding some players moving to Old Trafford. In a recent turn of events, Villareal’s highly rated defender Pau Torres is the latest player to be linked with the Red Devils.
The Spain international has become one of the best centre backs in Europe currently especially after helping Villareal reach the Champions League semi finals this season as they defeated Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals of the continental tournament.
The Spaniard remains calm about his future amid the rumours linking him to Manchester United. The Spanish defender shared how he has peace of mind as he shared that he has a offer from Villareal. He told AS recently, “Right now there is nothing at all, there is talk of many things like every year, I have peace of mind of being where they want me, at the club of my life and I have this offer right now that I value as very positive.”
“There is nothing right now, the only thing I have is the offer from Villarreal, so I am very calm, “ Torres added.
According to Manchester Evenings Pau Torres is among the defensive options at Manchester United as Erik ten Hag is a fan of the Spaniard. Torres has a release clause of around €60 million in his current contract that runs down till 2024.
The former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has a mighty job at hand as he has to turn things around at Old Trafford. Recently former Manchester United star Patrice Evra warned the Dutchman of the task at hand.
He said, “It’s a tough job, but he will have to make [difficult] decisions.”
The former France international shared how the Dutchman should make sure that the players are not joining the club for money or fame but are willing to fight for the club to take it back to glory. “When he brings one player to the club, [he must make sure] they’re not coming for the money, they’re not coming to become famous, but they are coming here to fight for the badge. That, for me, will be one of his most important things,” Evra added.
