Chelsea have put their Europa Conference League campaign on track after hammering Armenian side FC Noah 8-0 at the Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
The Blues made 11 changes to their lineup and became the first team to score 16 goals in their first three Conference League games of a season. This is also the biggest Europa Conference League victory.
The Blues, with a completely different team from their last Premier League game, led 6-0 at the break and added two more in the second half to wrap up the win.
They only needed 12 minutes to open the floodgate of goals, taking the lead when Tosin Adarabioyo headed in Enzo Fernandez’s corner.
Chelsea doubled their lead instantly following their kick-off, Noah lost the ball, and Marc Guiu won the ball and scored.
Axel Disasi made it three through another Fernandez corner. Fernandez fed Joao Felix, who ran through and clipped the ball over the goalkeeper.
Mykhailo Mudryk also registered his name on the goals sheet he curled a fine shot into the top corner. Felix then got his brace via a deflection.
Christopher Nkunku, who had hit the bar, finally scored to make it seven in the second half from an angle after his initial shot was saved.
The Frenchman eventually got a brace when he scored a penalty, which he slammed down the middle.
Chelsea were huge favourites to win this game, and they showed the gulf in difference between them. And their hosts. Chelsea are ranked ninth in Uefa’s European club rankings, while Noah are 311th.
Their 8-0 is the joint-second biggest victory in their history, only behind a 13-0 Cup Winners’ Cup victory over Jeunesse Hautcharage in 1971.
FC Noah, who were only formed seven years ago, started well before falling like a pack of cards. Goncalo Gregorio forced a save from Filip Jorgensen after just three minutes.
After Chelsea scored, they never looked back and cruised to victory.
