Pep Guardiola and Manchester City will get a fourth and second UEFA Champions League final, respectively, after beating Real Madrid 4-0 on Wednesday evening and 5-1 on aggregate in the semifinal.
Manchester City was less than five minutes away from the final last season before Real Madrid did the unthinkable. However, the Blue half of Manchester was ruthless on Wednesday.
Bernardo Silva’s first-half brace set Pep Guardiola’s side on the route to Istanbul, Turkey. At the same time, an own goal from Eder Militao and a late Julian Alvarez goal ensured that there was no comeback this time around.
Bernardo Silva, after his brace, said that the 4-0 scoreline was wonderful and was already looking forward to the UEFA Champions League final against Inter Milan.
“It is a beautiful night for us. We know it would be tough, but to beat this Real Madrid team 4-0 at home was wonderful. Hopefully, we will win it. We know how tough they are. They pushed us, but we were very resilient; we were passionate but organized at the time. My performance in the first game in Madrid was not the one I wanted, and I wanted to compensate for that. Today I had to do better for my teammates and the fans, and that is what I tried to do.” Bernardo Silva said.
Inter Milan, on the other hand, got the better of their City rivals AC Milan 3-0 on aggregate to secure the UEFA Champions League final.
The UEFA Champions League final will come up on the 10th of June in Istanbul, Turkey when Manchester City would possibly be hoping to Roundup a treble as they are set to win the Premier League if they can get one more victory in their last three games while still keeping a date with Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
