With the appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo as head coach of Spurs, the club is now focusing on strengthening its squad for next season.
One of the players who has been of great interest to the club is Sevilla’s Frenchman, Jules Kunde. According to several reports, the center-back is Spurs’ priority for this transfer window, and they are willing to pay € 58.3 million for the player.
The problem is that Sevilla has set a price tag of €80 million for the player, so Tottenham will have to struggle in negotiations if they want to take the player.
Koundé has expressed his interest in moving to a bigger team and with better aspirations than Sevilla. Therefore there is a lot of interest for a transfer to be finalized from the player’s side.
Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui does not want to let go of Koundé, who has been a key player at the club. With only two seasons at Sevilla FC, the Frenchman has earned a permanent place in the first team. He has made 89 appearances in all competitions and has scored six goals despite being a defender.
At the age of 22, he has been called up by Didier Deschamps to play for the French team at the Euro.
Manchester United also follows Koundé, but in the shortlist of the Red Devils, there are other players like Varane and Koulibily, especially because their price tag is lower.
Koundé’s arrival in North London will depend on Spurs’ decision regarding Manchester City’s €100 million bid for Harry Kane. If they accept the offer, the club will have sufficient funds to secure the transfer of the young Frenchman.
