Norwich City goalkeeper Tim Krul has indicated that next weekend’s game against fellow relegation battlers Watford, maybe the Canaries most important game of the season after admitting the tie at the Carrow Road on Friday as a “Massive game.”
Norwich City’s form has failed to improve since a 0-0 draw at the Vitality Stadium against Bournemouth immediately after the international break offered a glimmer of hope but two games after, Daniel Farke’s side have dropped all six points available.
Neither have Norwich City won in their last five games after Saturday’s English Premier League game against Brighton at the Amex Stadium ended 2-0 om favour of the hosts. This means that Norwich are 3 points away from safety.
The Canaries next opponents are not any better as they are rock bottom 2 points behind Norwich and 5 points adrift safety after losing to Europa League Champions, Chelsea 2-1 at home at the weekend.
The Hornets are still winless in the campaign so far.
According to Krul, the team hasn’t performed as expected on the pitch despite the Manager’s effort in ensuring the team gets all it needs to perform.
The Dutchman believes the team needs to stick to its philosophy and take the fixture against Watford as one where all maximum points should be aimed by working hard ahead of the game.
“We all know how important Friday night is going to be and we’ll work hard every day leading up to the game.”
Meanwhile, speaking after the loss to Brighton, Krul admitted that the team wasn’t creating enough chances while the opponents; who according to him were the better team on the day.
The loss also revealed the growing frustration amongst the Norwich as the Canaries players were involved in heated arguments during the game which was the fifth loss in six-game on the bounce.
Despite being regarded as one of the team’s leader, Tim Krul explained that younger players in the team should pull more weight and be more ruthless when they approach games.
Norwich City are given odds of 2.65 to be relegated from the Premier League. While Watford FC are 3.35 to be relegated.
