Manchester United’s talismanic striker Cristiano Ronaldo has blasted for media for telling lies. Ronaldo said that the people will know the truth when he will give an interview regarding his future.
There have been a lot of speculations regarding Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford. It was earlier reported by the BBC that Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United during the off-season as he wanted to play for a Champions League club.
However, as things turned out, Ronaldo has so far stayed put at Manchester United. The club has had a horrendous start to the latest season as they lost their opening match against Brighton and Hove Albion by 2-1 while playing at home. Furthermore, they received a 4-0 drubbing against Brentford FC while playing away.
On the other hand, Ronaldo said that only five articles about his future at Red Devils would have been true and the lashed out at the media for their inaccurate reporting.
Cristiano Ronaldo wrote while commenting on Instagram, “They (will) know the truth when they interview in a couple of weeks. The media is telling lies. I have a notebook and in the last few months of the 100 news I made, only 5 were right. Imagine how it is. Stick with that tip.”
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo was the star performer for Manchester United in the previous season as he had scored 24 goals in 38 matches across all competitions. The linchpin scored 18 out of those 24 goals in the Premier League and also provided three assists. However, Ronaldo is yet to open his account in the two matches he has played so far.
Manchester United will take on Liverpool on 23rd August, 12:30 am IST. The Reds have played two drawn matches so far in the season.
