Reports have said talks between Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain for a deal for Victor Osimhen didn’t come out satisfactorily.
This could lead to the collapse of a deal for the Nigerian striker who has been on the radar of the Ligue 1 champions.
After the exit of their star player Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid, the Parisian giants have been heavily linked with a move for the 25-year-old Napoli striker this summer.
They want to make a statement signing in the market following Mbappe’s free transfer move to the La Liga giant.
Osimhen seems to want the deal to happen, but there is no indication that a personal agreement will be reached with the Ligue 1 giant.
His agent Roberto Calenda is in Paris to facilitate negotiations between both parties, and a call was held on Monday afternoon between Aurelio De Laurentiis and Nasser Al Khelaifi, with sporting directors Giovanni Manna and Luis Campos also involved.
Calciomercato.com and Fabrizio Romano revealed that talks between Napoli and PSG regarding the Osimhen deal did not progress on Monday, with the latter making it clear that they had no intention of activating his €130m release clause.
Since that is the case with PSG, the Partenopei want the Ligue 1 giants to include Kang-In Lee as part of the deal, but the idea was immediately ruled out.
PSG then suggested they send Carlos Soler and Nordi Mukiele in exchange, which Napoli also rejected. As things stand, the valuation between the two clubs is large.
This leaves a serious chance for Osimhen’s potential transfer to PSG to collapse, leaving him at Napoli for the time being.
Although the Nigerian is recovering from an injury, he is to train separately.
This could also stall a deal for Romelu Lukaku, whom Antonio Conte wants to reunite with at the club.
