North London club, Tottenham Hotspurs, has revealed the identity of the men who will work hand in hand with the newly appointed coach, Jose Mourinho.
Joao Sacramento, Carlos Lain, Nuno Santos, Ricardo Formosinho, and Giovanni Cerra will all work with the former Manchester United, and Chelsea manager after Mauricio Pochettino’sPochettino’s assistants Jesus Perez, Miguel D’AgostinoD’Agostino and Antoni Jimenez all left with the Argentine after he was sacked on Tuesday evening.
Jose Mourinho, who also coached Real Madrid and Inter Milan in the past, was appointed the following morning, just about twelve hours after Pochettino’sPochettino’s sacking.
Meanwhile, he will be assisted by Joao Sacramento, who has become the assistant manager while Nuno Santo, who had to leave French Ligue One side, Lille to team up with him at the White Hart Lane will be the Goalkeeper coach.
Carlos Lain will work as the fitness Coach while Ricardo Formosinho and Giovanni Cerra will be in the backroom staff analysts with Formosinho as tactical analysts.
The newly assembled backroom staff is expected to form a working synergy quickly as three of the five of them have worked with Mourinho at one point or the other.
Lain, Cerra, and Formoshino have all worked with the Portuguese coach at some of his previous clubs. Ricardo Formoshino and Giovanni Cerra were both with Mourinho at the Old Trafford, while Carlos Lain, apart from being with him at Manchester United, was also with Mourinho at Real Madrid and Chelsea.
Despite the familiar faces who will be in North London, there is no space for Rui Faria, a long-time partner of Mourinho, who is currently in charge of the Qatari club side Al-Duhail SC.
Faria was Jose Mourinho’sMourinho’s assistant while at Manchester, Chelsea, Porto Real Madrid, and Inter Milan.
Mourinho’sMourinho’s first test will be at the Olympics Stadium on Saturday in the English Premier League against Crystal Palace while he will manage his first game at the White Hart Lane on Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League against Greek team Olympiacos.
Tottenham are backed at 410.00 to win the EPL.
