Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Milan Škriniar is nearing a departure from Paris Saint-Germain, just one year after joining the club on a free transfer from Inter Milan.
Lequipe revealed that Skriniar’s move to the Parc des Princes was scheduled before the appointment of Luis Enrique as manager, but it is becoming a surprise as the Spaniard did feature the center-back.
It was gathered that Škriniar was not a player that he relied on. This could be part of why Enrique has yet to step foot on the pitch.
This contrasts the situation where the defender had expressed a clear wish to remain at PSG earlier in the summer.
Škriniar is now on the verge of a departure to the Saudi League to link up with the likes of Riyad Mahrez, N’golo Kante, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Romano reported that Al Nassr has sent an official bid, and the deal is almost already sealed. The Slovakian international, therefore, looks set to complete a permanent move to the emerging Asian league. It is now up to the player to give the green light to the move, and he is expected to be offered bumper pay.
Should his move be completed, Les Parisiens will need to sign another center-back before the transfer window’s closure.
As the transfer window remains a few days, the Ligue 1 champions will need reinforcement as they have to compete in three competitions apart from the French league campaign.
Meanwhile, PSG has also joined other teams looking for the signature of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Koné.
The Frenchman, on the monitoring list of many top teams, was recently excluded from Gladbach’s squad list.
PSG are reportedly serious in their pursuit and could accelerate in the coming hours. The transfer deadline is Friday, August 30, and time is running out.
