Inter Milan has been boosted by Milan Skriniar and Nicolò Barella’s return to full fitness ahead of the match against Genoa.
The Nerazzurri could soon have Stefano Sensi back. This is a massive boost for Antonio Conte’s men as they will be playing three games in nine days against Genoa, Parma, and Atalanta.
This will allow Inter to strengthen their position at the top in Serie A. After the 3-0 hammering of AC Milan over the weekend, Inter now tops the Serie A with 53 points, four points better than Milan. Juventus and AS Roma complete the top four with 44 and 45 points, respectively. Although Juventus and Napoli still have an outstanding game.
According to reports, Achraf Hakimi won’t be available for selection. The Morrocan who is suspended for the clash against the Rossoblu could be the only player missing.
Barella has reportedly recovered from a thigh problem he sustained after playing against Juventus. The midfielder scored the second goal against the Bianconerri in their last encounter, which they won 2-0. He is therefore set for a return against Genoa. Skriniar had some complaints after the Milan derby, but it is not severe.
Meanwhile, Marcelo Brozovic, Barella, Alessandro Bastoni, and Romelu Lukaku could be suspended for the next game after Genoa. All of them are just one yellow away from suspensions.
Having been out of European competition and the Coppa Italia, Inter has only the Serie A to think about until May. The three games will allow them to use all the resources available and possibly extend their lead.
Conte might give some fringe players some game time to avoid fatigue, while Arturo Vidal is also expected to return to the starting line-up.
Conte could secure his job with a Scudetto and stop Juventus’ dominance. The Bianconerri had won the Scudetto for the night straight time.
