Serie A players resume training

After a very productive International break for the Italian national team, it’s back to domestic matters for various Italian top-flight clubs as they gear up for Matchday 3 fixtures in the Italian Serie A.

League leaders Juventus F.C. welcomed back their host of international stars from national team duty ahead of preparations for their league match against ACF Fiorentina on the 14th of September. Club captain Giorgio Chiellini is still a long-term injury casualty due to the ruptured cruciate ligament he suffered in his right knee back in August.

Florentina are backed at 5.15 to secure a victory over Juventus, while Juventus are available at 1.70 to win them.

In other injury news, Croatian forward Marko Pjaca has resumed training after his long spell out with injury but still has work to do to regain match fitness before he can think of filing out for the Old Lady. Fiorentina, on the other hand, have no injuries to report and will have a fully fit squad of players to choose from when they host Juve on Saturday.

In other squad news, Internazionale will be happy none of their main players suffered any injuries as they get set to host Udinese Calcio at the San Siro on Saturday as well. Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku will be looking to continue his impressive scoring streak against the Biaconeri when they face off. Lukaku, who suffered racist abuse the last time he played for the Nerazzurri, will be looking to put that behind him and transfer his goal scoring form for Belgium during the European qualifiers to his club Inter Milan.

Inter Milan are backed at 1.34 to seal another win, while Udinese are priced at 9.71 to pull a shock win. A draw is also available at 5.50.

Udinese will, however, be sweating over the fitness of their Nigerian international defender William Troost-Ekong, who had to limp out of Nigeria’s match a 2-2 draw against hosts Ukraine in an international friendly played on Tuesday, 10th of September, 2019.

Staying with Milan but this time, neighbors and eternal rivals AC gave some of their returning international players a break from the rest of the training group to help their recuperation from national team duty. Matteo Gabbia, Lucas Paquetá, Franck Kessié and new on-loan signing from Eintracht Frankfurt Croatian Ante Rebić were some of those excused for this reason. Rebić will be unlikely to feature for the Rossoneri on Sunday, 15th of September as they prepare to face Hellas Verona F.C. away at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi.

Matchday 3 Serie fixtures will be played between the 14th and 16th of September, 2019.
