Fulham FC manager Scott Parker was full of praises for his Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic after the latter scored his 12th goal of the league campaign in last weekend’s 1-0 win over Birmingham City FC.
Coach Parker described him as “an absolute animal” and “talisman“ after the Big Serbian striker helped the west Londoners secure their seventh win of the campaign in the ongoing English Championship League season.
This season has been a very productive one for Aleksandar whose prolific run in front of goal has seen him rise to the top of the goal scorers chart in the English championship. His fine form was also rewarded when he was crowned the PFA player-of-the-month for October.
The Fulham forward has been the driving force for his side in attack this season. The focal point through which all of the cottagers’ offensive play has been executed. His bullishness and aggressiveness have also been a handful for opposition teams. This much we saw last weekend when his challenge on Birmingham City goalkeeper Lee camp led to the ball falling kindly into his path for him to score an easy tap in.
The former Newcastle United FC player has always been highly rated, but it seems it’s only now that he’s beginning to show on a consistent basis his true qualities. A reward for the faith the Fulham management had shown in him especially this past summer when he was signed to an improved contract when many thought that the alluring eyes of English Premier League clubs would have led to him exiting the West London side.
Not that the big Serbian doesn’t have his eyes set on playing in the Premier League. However, he would want to repay the faith shown in him by helping the lily whites gain promotion back to the Premier League after disappointingly dropping out of the English top tier last season.
Scott Parker will be hoping that his main man Mitrovic comes back unscathed from the international break with his country Serbia ready to lead the line in their next League game.
Fulham’s next game will be in a fortnight against Queens Park Rangers FC on November 22nd 2019.
Aleksandar Mitrovic is priced at 2.45 to emerge as the topscorer in the Championship. While close rival Ollie Watkins is given 7.00.
