Juventus manager, Maurizio Sarri says he is pleased with Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain’s work-rate for Juventus.
While noting that his lad played at a high level for 60 minutes after scoring three goals in the first half against Udinese at the Juventus Stadium, through a brace from Ronaldo and a strike from Leonardo Bonucci, Sarri said It’s the first time his lads will play an attacking game after a Champions League fixture.
It could be recalled that Juventus won the Champions League clash against Bayern Leverkusen 2-0 in Germany, in response to a 3-1 defeat suffered against Lazio in the league last week.
With the trio starting together, Sarri told Sky Sport Italia that they are in good shape at the moment and gave Udinese, a team that doesn’t keep possession but plays long balls a game by wrapping up the 3-1 win early enough.
While noting that his side struggled in the second half s they visitors started passing the ball around, the former Chelsea coach said it was a situation where Juventus could afford to have the three front line, which he described as a valuable option, but cannot be used all the time.
He also lauded the forwards for their hard work in helping the defense and pressing their visitors for the first 60 minutes. He also commended them for playing to instruction, which was quick exchanges and passing that resulted in a good game for them.
Dybala was rewarded for a starting line up after being introduced in the Champions League victory against Bayer Leverkusen, where he transformed the game with two assists.
While noting that the second half became a 50-50 possession affair, making it difficult as Udinese were very organized and focused.
Speaking on the reason for the introduction of the trident, Sarri said he observed against Bayer Leverkusen that they were getting tired and struggling to keep up the intensity, and Udinese played in a different way, which is not primarily on passing.
Speaking on the criticism he has taken for going for the trident, which left Federico Bernardeschi on the bench, Sarri, who said he had been criticized after making a substitution that resulted in win added that he never know what to expect.
