Juventus has revealed that its star player, Cristiano Ronaldo, is still trying to fight the coronavirus he contracted during the international break.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the Portuguese captain is still battling the virus after receiving a positive result from the tests one on Wednesday.
In the hope that he will recover soon, Juventus will carry out another test before the UEFA Champions League clash against Barcelona.
The Italian Serie A champions will do another test for the superstar today at the end of the initial isolation period. This is coming ten days after Ronaldo’s sample returned positive.
According to sources within the club, if the Portuguese sample return negative today, he will move out of isolation and begin training ahead of the weekend Serie A game and be set to face his rival, Lionel Messi, next week.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Juve team is currently in isolation. They have been training in the club facility and sleeping in the hotel, which has been the team’s bubble. Once everyone undergoes the swab test today, and the results return negative, the fiduciary isolation will be declared close, and everyone will be allowed to go home.
It could be recalled that the lies of Ronaldo, Juan Cuadrado left the Juve camp while they were in isolation after reporting two cases due to international commitment.
The COVID-19 protocol, Juventus, will still go ahead with the next engagement, which is a Serie A clash against Hellas Verona.
There has been a recent spike of cases in Europe, and it seems Serie A is one of the affected teams. Almost all teams in the division usually announce positive cases.
After gathering just 8 points from four matches played so far, Juventus will be hoping to return to winning ways against the visitors and move at least to the top four.
The Bianconeri is currently fifth on the log while AC Milan tops the Serie A log with 12 points – a 100 percent record from the league.
