Celtic are preparing to take on RB Leipzig tomorrow at Parkhead, and Brendan Rodgers has spoken at his press conference ahead of the powderkeg Champions League tie.
The Bhoys come into this one fresh from thumping Aberdeen in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final on Saturday, continuing a positive recent run of results under the Irishman.
With four points in their opening three Champions League fixtures, Celtic remain in contention for the knockout play-off round, while RB Leipzig could be missing up to six players ahead of their trip to Parkhead.
Despite their excellent start to life in the Bundesliga, the visitors are without a point from their three matches in Europe’s premier competition after losing out to Liverpool, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid.
Admittedly, Celtic will need to conjure a special performance to join illustrious company, which is something Brendan Rodgers believes will extend to the stands tomorrow night.
Heightening the occasion, Celtic boss Rodgers has urged supporters to be as vocal as they can tomorrow against Leipzig alongside asking them to stick with the team as his side plot a famous European night at Parkhead.
Speaking in a presser ahead of Leipzig tie, Rodgers revealed how important home games are most especially at this very stage.
“We are aware of the huge advantage in home games, and we all know here that supporters can bring you closer to the result when you want it. “
I think that intensity will be needed, the noise and what it generates here is absolutely incredible. He added.
Celtic supporters rarely need encouragement to put on a show, so expect Parkhead to be rocking tomorrow night as the Bhoys look to claim a positive result against an elite opponent.
Rodgers has made his wish loud and clear. With so much on the line, fans will back the side to the hilt as they stand on the precious of taking a major leap forward towards securing progression.
