Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski is on the verge of leaving the club as his agent Pini Zahavi made some shocking revelations about the Bundesliga champions from his client’s perspective.
Lewandowski apparently wants to move out of Munich and join FC Barcelona as Zahavi sparks allegations of Bayern holding the Polish striker down against his will.
Lewandowski’s current contract with Bayern runs till next season and the Polish superstar has a desire to play for the Catalans according to his agent Zahavi. While Bayern are looking to settle down to a new era under manager Julian Nagelsmann. Whereas Zahavi has been pushing a move for his client away from Germany and FC Barcelona has emerged as his preferred destination.
Recently Pini Zahavi came up with some serious allegations against the German Champions and also claimed that Lewandowski is history for the Munich based club. “Of course you can keep Robert for another year, to be fair he has a contract until 2023, but I would not recommend that to you. For Robert Lewandowski, Bayern Munich is history,” Zahavi told Bild.
Lewandowski’s agent has shared that it has been a lifelong dream for the Polish striker to play for Barcelona. So he wants Bayern to not hold down his client in Munich and let him join Barcelona this summer.
“The fact is: Robert wants to leave FC Bayern after eight years together in which he gave the club everything. Now, at almost 34, he has the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream and move to the club he always dreamed of. Why is Bayern denying him this opportunity?”
Zahavi’s statement has come out as a warning for Bayern Munich as some feel that the Israeli agent is eager to help his client move to Spain this summer.
Lewandowski has been firing on all cylinders for Bayern Munich as he has scored 50 goals in 46 appearances this season and continues to raise mayhem for the opposition defenders. He has been one of Europe’s best strikers and goalscorers for the last few years.
A move for Lewandowski to join Barcelona can be beneficial as he always wanted to move to Spain and play in La Liga. Since a move to Real Madrid hardly makes any sense, Barcelona remains as his chosen option since they do not necessarily have a player of his calibre in attack.
