Tottenham skipper Harry Kane has agreed personal terms with German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich in hopes of a move away from North London this summer. This move is a serious setback for Real Madrid, who are shopping for a striker following Karim Benzema’s departure.
The England striker had been knocking on the exit doors more than two years ago when it was thought that a move to Manchester City would materialize until Spurs chairman Dany Levy blocked the move.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola got his hands on Norwegian striker Erling Haaland instead, and they have gone on to win the Premier League while Kane signed an extension at the club.
However, with a year left on his contract, the skipper has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, who were hoping to replace Karim Benzema, who moved to Al Ittihad with the England forward.
Bayern Munich was originally not in the picture, but boss Thomas Tuchel has been keen on bringing Kane to the Allianz Arena, while PSG has been interested too. Premier League club side Manchester United is also monitoring the situation of a man-rated at around £100M.
On Tuesday, reports intensified about Bayern Munich’s strong interest and a possible agreement on personal terms between the ten-time Bundesliga champions and Harry Kane.
Irrespective, Tottehnam has told the player he won’t be available for sale on Tuesday, the same day they confirmed the signing of Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli.
Harry Kane scored 30 goals and three assists in 38 matches for Tottenham last season as they missed out on European football after finishing in eighth position on the Premier League table. He also scored a brace as England beat North Macedonia 7-0 in a UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers played at Old Trafford earlier in June.
Meanwhile, Spurs are also hoping to sign Leicester City midfielder James Maddison for £40 million. Leicester City got Relegated last season.
