Real Madrid are getting closer to bringing Jude Bellingham to Santiago Bernabeu after agreeing to a deal. The nineteen-year-old English midfielder is also keen to move and complete the move in the coming days.
The Los Blancos have been able to reach an agreement with German club Borussia Dortmund for 103m euros (£88.5m). Jude Bellingham joined the Yellow and Blacks in 2020 from Birmingham.
He went on to feature at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar with the Three Lions of England. Although he was previously linked with Liverpool, who pulled out of the deal due to a hefty price tag, he will now have a medical with the Los Blancos before Friday and sign a six-year deal worth 103m euros, with potential add-ons which could push the deal to reach 133.9m euros (£115m).
After joining the club at 17 for £25M, Bellingham went on to captain Dortmund in October last year, becoming the club’s youngest captain aged 19. In the 2022/23 season, Bellingham played 42 times, scoring 14 goals and making seven assists.
Real Madrid dropped four players last weekend, with Karim Benzema leaving and joining Al Ittihad on a bumper deal, while Eden Hazard was released after a poor run at the club as the Belgian contemplates retirement.
Mariano Diaz and Marcos Asensio are the other two guys that were dropped after a season that saw Real Madrid finish with just the Copa Del Rey beating Osasuna to the title while ending third in La Liga as well as losing in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League after losing to Manchester City.
Borussia Dortmund also finished second in the German Bundesliga to Bayern Munich on the final day of the season. If this move goes through, it will make Jude Bellingham the most expensive teenager in the world.
