The Azzurri had booked their place in next year’s European championship months ago but still played with willingness and determination. Last week, the Italians defeated Bosnia-Herzegovina to secure their 10th straight win for the first time in their history.
It was a memorable victory for AS Roma’s youngster, Nicolo Zaniolo, as he scored a brace, which were even his first international goals. While in-form Lazio human, Ciro Immobile also scored two goals for Italy, as they remarkably completed Group J with 30 points from their 10 games.
Other players who got on the score sheet include Nicolo Barella, Alessio Romagnoli, Jorginho, debutant Riccardo Orsolini and Federico Chiesa.
