Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that Jesse Lingard will be included in the squad to face Burnley in the Premier League on Tuesday.
The German manager was talking in respect to the absence of the English forward in the FA Cup tie against Championship side Middlesbrough which the Red Devils eventually lost on Penalty shootouts last Friday.
Rangnick had stated that the forward needed time off to clear his head, a claim which Lingard contradicted with his social media posts afterward, stating that his “headspace” is clear and ready to play for Manchester United if called upon.
Despite the apparent opposite claims, Rangnick claims that his relationship with Jesse Lingard remains intact, stating that there is no problem between both of them.
“All the other things have been spoken about, he [Lingard] mentioned some personal issues. But we have to look forward now. There are no problems whatsoever between myself and Jesse, and vice versa. I’m happy to have him in the squad, and he will be a member of the squad for tomorrow’s game.”
Manchester United will hope to bounce back to winning ways as they look likely to end the season without a trophy. The game at the Turf Moor as the Clarets will be playing their 5000th game in the English Football League since 1888.
However, Sean Dyche’s men have won just once in their last 15 clashes, with Manchester United recording four draws and nine losses. Their last five matches in all competitions have been three losses and two draws, while United has three wins, a draw, and a loss on penalty in their last five games.
While United is in fourth on the table, they are nineteen points away from table-topping city rivals led by Pep Guardiola, while Burnley is rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.
In other matches slated for Tuesday, Newcastle will host Everton, and West Ham United will play Watford.
