After being held to a 1-1 at home against AS Monaco last weekend, Paris Sainte-Germaine have returned to winning ways in the French Ligue 1 with a 3-0 win at Toulouse.
It was another top performance from Lionel Messi, who provided assists for Neymar and Kylian Mbappe to record maximum points.
The win leaves the Ligue 1 champions on the summit of the Ligue 1 table with 13 points with better goals difference than joint leaders, Olympique Marseille and RC Lens.
Messi recorded his first assist of the night when he starred as PSG continued their unbeaten start to the season.
En route to picking up three league points at Toulouse, the 35-year-old delightfully pierced a ball to Neymar, who made no mistake from the final third.
Marco Verratti also proved his mettle when he played in Mbappe, who found Messi, who hit a first-time through ball to the Brazilian, who slotted home to open the scoring.
In a stunning team move in the second half, Messi was at it again as he assisted Mbappe to play an influential role in the goal.
Veratti lofted a sublime pass to Messi, who raced onto the pass. After brilliantly losing his marker, the former Barcelona captain shrugged off the Toulouse defender then teed up Mbappe, who made no mistake in front of goal.
Juan Bernat rounded up the night with a late strike.
This is a positive response to the critics of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, who appears to be back to his best this season following an underwhelming start to his PSG career.
Messi has so far scored three goals and recorded four assists in his side’s five league games this term.
The trio of Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe are forging a terrifying attacking trident. They have what it takes to take the league by storm.
PSG will be hoping they remain consistent as they will face a stern test when they open their Champions League campaign against Juventus next week.
