The latest report from France says Paris Sainte-Germaine has joined the race for the signature of Atalanta striker Rasmus Højlund and Luis Enrique have included Kylian Mbappe in the pre-season squad.

This is despite the contract extension row with the club.

The manager is now waiting for the return of Neymar from injury.

 Enrique’s first game as PSG boss Paris will be against newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Le Havre at their brand-new Campus PSG training center at Poissy at 5 pm local time.

The Ligue 1 giant also included Mbappé’s 16-year-old brother Ethan, who plays midfielder,  in the 27-man strong squad.

They also included new signings: Manuel Ugarte, Marco Asensio, Lee Kang-in, Lucas Hernandez, Cher Ndour, and Milan Škriniar.

Meanwhile, Neymar is absent as he is still recovering from his season-ending ankle ligament surgery.

Although the Brazilian international has partially returned to full team training, they do not want to rush him back into action.

He could join them on Saturday when the squad flies to Japan for their pre-season tour.

In a related development, the Paris club seems to be monitoring Højlund.

The 20-year-old has been a revelation in just one season. He has been a top priority for Manchester United as they look forward to reinforcement in their attack.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano PSG are trying to hijack Manchester United’s move for Atalanta forward. 

Despite having Mbappe,  PSG are still hunting for a striker this summer, having missed out on top targets like Robert Lewandowski, who instead moved to Barcelona.

Although Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane is also linked to the French giant, according to reports in French media, the England captain could join Bayern Munich. 

This could cause The English club to fast-track his signing, having already agreed on terms with the forward. Therefore, They are expected to make an opening offer for the player soon to prevent Les Parisiens from hijacking the deal.
