The interest in the services of Napoli striker by Paris Saint-Germain seems to be drawing towards a deal being agreed by both clubs, but the Ligue 1 champions face competition for his signature from the top club in Saudi Arabia, Al-Ahli
Fabrice Hawkins revealed that the Paris club has reached an agreement with Osimhen to join the club this summer but has yet to negotiate a deal with Napoli.
After a meeting on Monday, both clubs still have vastly different evaluations of the 25-year-old Nigerian striker, with Napoli expecting €110 million for the former Lille OSC man while PSG wants to pay no more than €80 million.
According to Hawkins, PSG’s sporting director, Luís Campos, has assured Randal Kolo Muani and Gonçalo Ramos of their leading roles in the club.
Although it seemed they are still going to be relied upon, which is a contrast of the report by L’Équipe, which said at least one of these two players would likely have to leave the club if they are to bring in Osimhen.
Meanwhile, PSG is facing competition in the race to sign the Nigerian striker with Chelsea and Al-Ahli. Despite the progress made in talks, both clubs are still linked to the forward.
They will hope that the longer PSG and Napoli remain without an agreement, the greater their chance will be of swooping in and landing the Nigerian international.
This development also leaves the future of Romelu Lukaku hanging. The Belgian, who is yet to resume preseason with his parent club, Chelsea, is training separately as he hopes to link up with Antonio Conte again at Napoli.
The Partenopei will want Osimhen out of the way before bringing the lanky Belgian forward.
The development has also led Chelsea to remove him from his preseason team, as the former AS Roma striker hopes to complete his move soon.
Although recovering from an injury, Osimhen has also been training separately from the rest of the squad.
