After having announced the signing of Fabián Ruiz, the Parisian team confirmed the arrival of Carlos Soler. The 25-year-old midfielder signs for five seasons with the Parisians at a fixed rate of 18 million that could rise to 22 if the variables are met.
The new boss of PSG, Luis Campos, has reinforced his roster with Vitinha, Ekitike, Mukiele, Renato Sanches and Fabián in this transfer market.
Valencia tried their best to prevent the player from leaving, but he had already decided to go to PSG.
Luis Campos had him as one of his main targets and had intensified negotiations in recent days to sign him.
Carlos Soler will integrate PSG’s offensive rotation and not the midfield. The player would come to complement the work of Neymar, Messi, and Mbappé, who only had Sarabia and Ekitike as a backup.
The idea is that PSG’s leading stars have high-quality players who can replace them in case of injury or when they need rest. Therefore it is expected that Soler will have to face a heavy physical load even if he does not have as many opportunities as a starter, as he must be ready to fill the space of one of the three big names in the club.
Valencia has issued an emotional farewell message to Carlos Soler: “Carlos Soler has worn the Valencia CF shirt since 2004 when he joined the VCF Academy at the age of seven to play for VCF Benjamín A. He grew step by step until he became one of the first team captains. His first official match was on December 10, 2016, against Real Sociedad, and since then, he has earned his continuity in the line-ups thanks to his excellent performance.
As a Valencianista, he has reached the elite, playing 215 official matches in all competitions, in which he has scored 39 goals and provided 31 assists. With the Valencia CF shirt, he has been champion of the Copa del Rey in 2019 and runner-up in 2022; he has played in the Champions League and has become a regular in the calls for the Spanish team.
The Club thanks him for his dedication, effort, and professionalism as a Valencia CF player and wishes him the best of luck in this new stage of his career”.
