Paris Saint-Germain has maintained their hundred percent record on the 2022 Champions after overcoming an early scare to record a 3-1 win against the Israeli side, Maccabi Haifa.
The Ligue 1 champions had gone into the game on the back of an opening day win against Juventus.
PSG had to come from behind in the game as the hits open the goals account against the run of play.
Coincidentally, the three goals were shared by the big three: Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar.
Maccabi Haifa took advantage of some leaky defending from the visitors.
The PSG defense during the game looked susceptible in the first half, and their Israeli opposition did well-squeezing space for the superstar opposition in an attack by hitting on the counter-attack.
Maccabi went into the lead through a wonderful finish from Tjaronn Chery, who volleyed home Dolev Haziza’s pin-point cross with an outstretched left leg after 27 minutes.
The hosts could only hold to the lead for eight minutes. Before the break, PSG restored parity. Mbappe beat his man before drilling a ball into the six-yard box, which fell for Lionel Messi to control on his thigh and then slot home.
They would in the, midway through the second half, go.into the lead. Mbappe raced onto Messi’s through-ball finished with trademark precision inside the far corner.
They then wrapped up the win with two minutes on the clock through Neymar. The Brazilian star latched onto a long pass from Marco Verratti and drilled home a low shot to rubber-stamp victory.
The Paris club have been a good team to watch. They have scored at least three goals each in nine away games on the trot.
They will en aiming to win the European trophy as that remains the only item missing in their gallery.
However, their undoing could be their defense looks capable of conceding multiple goals.
The take stakes them to the top of the group while Benfica remains second.
