Newly promoted Cadiz CF will be welcoming CA Osasuna to their home ground, Ramon Carranza on the first Spanish La Liga Santander clash on Saturday, September 12, 2020.
The manager, Álvaro Cervera, will have to begin the club’s La Liga campaign without Alberto Perea, who will serve a one-match suspension from the second division alongside Luismi Quezada, who suffered a severe injury. Quezada, who can play as a left-winger of left-back will sit out this one as he begins his rehabilitation ahead of his planned return until at least December.
Also, Garrido is a doubt for the clash as he is yet to reach a good physical rhythm for the game.
Although there are several doubts, in the starting eleven due to the COVID-19 that hit the Cardiz camp, either Cifuentes and Jeremías Ledesma, who is on loan at the club from Rosario Central could be in between the sticks.
Carlos Akapo and Isaac Carcelén will compete for the shirt in the right-back or even start as both can play in central defence as well. Provided Cádiz plays 4-3-3 formation, Jorge Pombo could be part of the three-man attack or play in his natural attacking midfield role.
But in a situation decides to apply 4-4-2 formation, either Malbasic or Iván Alejo could pair new signing Álvaro Negredo in the final third.
For Osasuna, Jagoba Arrasate will be without Darko Brašanac and Brandon Thoma, who is currently on the treatment table. Unai García and Enric Gallego are also severe doubt for the league opener while Chimy Ávila is the latest casualty after getting injured on Wednesday during a preseason game.
Sergio Herrera is expected to be given the job of the goalkeeper, while Nacho Vidal, David García, Aridane, Iñigo Pérez or Juan Cruz could complete a four-man defence.
In the middle of the pack, either Moncayola or Torró will get the nod alongside Roberto Torres, Oier, and Ruben Garcia while there could be a two-man partnership of front between Enric Gallego and Adrián.
