Lyon manager, Peter Bosz has challenged his players to take the initiative while on the field.
He is saying this ahead of the Ligue 1 clash against Troyes.
He, therefore, urged them to communicate with each other on the pitch, adding that that’s easier with players like Alexandre Lacazette Corentin and Tolisso.
Giving an update on the former Bayern Munich player, the manager said he is not ready for 90 minutes, but he’s improving from week to week.
“He will be able to play more than 25 minutes. I’ll tell him tomorrow if he’ll start. There’s a lot of competition in midfield. We missed [Maxence] Caqueret at the end of last season.”
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Tolisso should be fit enough to play a part in the Olympique Lyonnais home game, which comes up home on Friday.
Tolisso had left Bayern after five years, which, most of the time, was not a great one. He battled with different types of injuries at one point on the other at the Allianz Arena.
He has made a second return to the Groupama Stadium, with Alexandre Lacazette also having returned from Arsenal after the same length of time in North London.
Both were given second debuts in the opening day 2-1 win over AJ Ajaccio. In the game, Tolisso played only for a 15-minute cameo, in contrast to Lacazette, who got 90 minutes, scored one of OL’s goals, and assisted the other.
Since Les Gones have had a week longer to prepare for this clash with Troyes, it is expected that the midfielder will show more match sharpness.
It could be recalled that Lyon’s last Sunday’s match with FC Lorient was postponed due to an unplayable pitch at the Stade du Mustoir.
Other updates include Caqueret, who has shaken off an ankle injury and could get the start ahead of Tolisso’s expense. Rémy Riou will be between the sticks while Anthony Lopes continue serving a three-match ban after his sending-off against Ajaccio.
