Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović has set lofty goals for his career.The youngster is taking a very patient approach, though, and does not want to force anything.
The 20-year-old is still waiting to make his first start for the German national team, which is his next milestone.
Speaking in an exclusive interview, the youngster revealed his aim is to one day play for his national side.
However, he further added that it’s the coach who decides if he will play in the end.
“I can’t wait to get on the pitch for my first international appearance; I believe the best I can do as a player is to do my best in training and recommend myself, then we’ll see,” said Pavlović
Pavlović will be aiming to compete with Bayer Leverkusen’s Robert Andrich, Borussia Dortmund’s Pascal Groß, and VfB Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller for playing time in the games against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands.
Another player who will also be eyeing a spot In the team is Jonathan Burkardt.
There are indications Julian Nagelsmann will hand the forward his first cap for the German national team in this outing.
The 24-year-old striker has made an impressive start to the 2024/25 season with six goals and an assist in his seven outings, and he will be eager to mark the occasion with his first goal. Given the kind of form he has been in, it will be hard to bet against him.
This international break will see Germany play two Nations League games in this international break.
The first is against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday evening, before they then return to Germany and on Monday host the Netherlands in Munich. Then in a month’s time, Germany have another set of Nations League games including the return against Bosnia as well as a trip away to Hungary.
Germany have been on a dominating run in 2024. Apart from their defeat against Spain, they have dominated most opposition, and that will most likely be the case in this fixture.
While they are in transition, Nagelsmann has got them playing an attacking brand of football and they are expected to dominate the proceedings against Bosnia-Herzegovina.
