Manchester United star midfielder Paul Pogba claims Marcus Rashford and Kylian Mbappe to be the ‘present and future of football.’ if we think of it then the French midfielder is absolutely spot on.
Pogba’s Manchester United teammates Marcus Rashford has been sensational for the Red Devils on and off the pitch. He is someone who has lead the lines for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men scoring 20 goals and 13 assists across all competitions this season. However, he has earned most of the plaudits due to his exceptional off the field campaigns where he runs campaigns for the welfare of children below the poverty level.
Mbappe on the other hand, Mbappe has clinched the World Cup with France at such a tender age and keeps on improving with every passing season. The French forward has guided his side, Paris Saint-German to the UEFA Champions League semi finals after overcoming last season’s champions in Bayern Munich. He has scored a mammoth 37 goals along with 10 assists across all competitions this season and eight of those goals have come in the Champions League.
So in a question and answer session with United fans Pogba said, ““They’re two big, big, big talents. I think they are so young and so talented.
“They achieved so much for their young age. I think they are the present and the future of football.”
The midfielder was also asked the generic who is better among Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo question which he deflected very smoothly with a logical answer.
“It’s a nice but tricky question as there is no best for me,” the midfielder said. “Two different players. They are two players who both bring joy to watch.
“Any people are going to have their own opinion of them, just two legends. Me, I would just say they are two legends and not one is better than the other one. Just two people that give us football players, or football lovers, joy to watch.”
The former Juventus midfielder was also asked to pick a better finish in the United squad between Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani. Pogba once again came up with a very satisfying answer.
“The best finisher, I think it’s Mason. Yeah, Mason, I would say. And Edi. Yeah, Mason with the feet and Edi with his head,” Pogba opined.
Manchester United will be looking forward to the second leg of their Europa League semi finals against AS Roma. The Red Devils will look to win and carry that momentum to the finals as they defeated the Giallorossi 6-2 in the first leg and that more or less confirms their qualification to the finals which will be against the winner of Arsenal versus Villareal.
