Paris Saint Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe has been strongly linked with Spanish giants Real Madrid in the entire offseason. But the Frenchman has not ruled out of staying at Paris. The Parisians have rejected two big offers for the French forward this summer and are hoping that the youngster will stay at the French capital.
There are still talks of him joining the Blancos at the end of this current season. Mbappe’s current contract ends this summer and therefore the talks of him joining the Spanish giants have only gotten louder. While expressing his frustration for the failed exit Mbappe is keeping his cards wide open as there is still a possibility of him staying back at the French capital.
“I don’t know,” Mbappe said in an interview organised by the Amazon Prime when they asked him about his future. “Today I have to take the time. It is not easy. Either way, I’ll be playing for a big club.
“At first I was disappointed [not to leave]. But well, I am not in the third division, I am in a club that wants to win the Champions League. I am Parisian, I have my family, I feel good, I have always said it. I just wanted to discover something else.”
Mbappe ‘s dream of joining Real Madrid did not materialise this summer. But it also saw his childhood hero Lionel Messi joining the club. So a lot of people felt that the young Frenchman may stay back in Paris only to play with the legendary Argentine.
Although the Parisians are at the top of the Ligue 1 currently, it can be said that the famous trio of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar have not fired in all cylinders yet. The youngster admitted that the trio needs to do their bit and improve overall. He added, “We’re aware that we need to do more. When you have three players of that level, you can’t hide from it. We need to do the things that keep us together as a collective. We each have to do our bit.”
When asked who is the boss at PSG, Mbappe cheekily replied that in presence of Messi and Neymar he cannot be the boss in Paris. But he agreed that the team are in great shape.
“I’m in a good spell, the team is doing well. We really don’t care about who the boss is. The goal is to put all three of is in the right conditions because we’re game-changers. It’s better that way.”
