Barcelona winger, Ousmane Dembélé, has asked the La Liga giants to allow him to open a discussion with PSG that would lead to a potential move to France.
The latest development follows the weekend’s reports that the Paris club had stepped up their efforts to bring in the former Borussia Dortmund attacker.
According to L’Équipe in a report on Monday afternoon, the French international has asked Barcelona for permission to negotiate with the Ligue 1 champions.
Meeting the release clause of the former Rennes player, which is around €50m, is not expected to be an issue for PSG.
Dembele 3ants to open talks with the La Liga giant as the release clause expires on Tuesday morning, after which the fee needed to sign him will double.
L’Équipe further reported that the player’s representatives and PSG have agreed on the outlines of a deal that will cover four to five years.
With this, it can be said that Dembeoe wants to end his six-year stay at Camp Nou as he is interested in the move.
Now that h3 has asked the La Liga champions for permission to speak with PSG, the request is expected to be granted, and PSG might make an offer that Barca may find tempting.
This is judging from their state of finance as they could want to recoup some money through the sales of Winger.
Giving Barca their due respect, the World Cup winner has notified them of his intention to activate his release clause.
According to reports, Dembélé wants the two teams to find a more conventional agreement.
As things stand, his return to Ligue 1 appears to be imminent.
Since joining Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund, Dembele has played 185 games, scored 40 goals, and recorded 43 assists in competitive games.
The 26-year-old attacker has also won three La Liga titles, two Spanish cups, and two Spanish Super Cups with the Camp Nou outfit.
