Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen says his team has what it takes to win the Scudetto.
The Nigerian said this after scoring the brace that won the game for Napoli against Hellas Verona on Sunday.
Osimhen who said he has been working on his headers scored both goals at the Stadio Bentegodi to give his team victory. The first was a header and a tap-in from six yards. Marco Davide Faraoni later pulled one back late on for the hosts to end the game 2-1.
Speaking with DAZN, he said after the defeat against AC Milan, everyone was upset.
While nothing that Stephano Pioli’s men gave them a difficult game, he said Pertonopei was an organised team with determination and desire to win, adding that it thus deserved to win on Sunday.
The former Lille striker has ended a run of four consecutive headed goals. He said he has been working on this part of his game, especially after wearing a protective mask for a facial fracture.
He further revealed that during some practice in training, Mario Rui and Di Lorenzo helped him with some crosses.
Wanting to have more confidence in his head, he said it’s really important to him and wants to continue like this.
On Napoli’s chance of winning the Scudetto now, the Nigerian striker urge his teammates to continue to win, noting that to win the title, they must try to win every game this season.
When asked why the former Lille hitman took a camera from the pitch-side photographer and took a snap of the Napoli fans when celebrating his second goal, he said Koulibaly gave him to take a picture of the fans, adding that they have been amazing from start to finish and they deserved a shot.
The win put Napoli second on the log three points behind leaders AC Milan.
