The Red Devils boss has been emphatic that the club will make no further moves in the transfer market.
In previous seasons the club has been known for making last-minute deals and leaving the doors at Old Trafford open to any possibility until the last minute of the transfer window.
But Solskjaer has said that they have done things differently this season and already completed all the deals they wanted to do.
The arrivals of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and Raphael Varane from Real Madrid have been the club’s most important signings this transfer window. According to Solskjaer, these players were his top priority, and he is satisfied.
In an interview with VGTV the Baby-faced Assassin said: “I don’t think much is going to happen. If something happens, it is a bonus. You never know what happens in the world of football,” he said.
“But we’ve had a very good window. I am happy with what we’ve done.”
But not everyone shares Solskjaer’s opinion and believes the club needs to make a couple more signings to have a genuinely competitive squad.
For example, Bruno Fernandes told The Sun that the club needs a defensive midfielder. He believes that a new midfielder focused on the back four would allow him to play more in the final-third and focus his skills on the attack.
Fernandes is in the process of renewing his contract with the club, but has openly questioned boss Solskjaer’s decisions.
However, Fernandes’ opinion is not entirely wrong. The Red Devils have been on the lookout for a defensive midfielder. In fact, the club is rumored to have held talks with West Ham’s Declan Rice.
In fact, Rice has turned down several offers of a new contract with the Hammers as he is interested in moving to a team that plays in the Champions League.
