Norwich City has been handed a tough all-Premier League encounter against Burnley FC in the next round of the English FA Cup.
A brace from Jay Rodriguez, and further goals from Erik Pieters as well asJeff Hendrick set the Clarets for a 4-2 win at home to lower division side Peterborough. Daniel Farke’s men on the other hand were able to get favorable result away at Preston North end with a 4-2 win.
A stunning hattrick by Adam Idah was enough to see the Canaries through to the next round alongside an Onel Hernandez’s goal despite the late fight back from the home team.
The 18-year old Irish born striker, Idah was making his debut in the six goals thriller at Lancashire and it will be another return to Lancashire when Norwich travel to Turf moor on the 25th of January.
With Burnley another return to Lancashire looms as the Canaries hope to get favorable results.
The FA Cup win was the first win for the Canaries in 8 games in all competition’s. They will hope this transfers to their league form as they try to beat the drop back into the championship.
Sean Dyche’s Burnley have been inconsistent as well as they have lost three of their last three games and managed to win the last two.
The FA Cup tie between both sides will be played at the Turf Moore on the 25th of January but before then both teams have English Premier League assignments.
For Burnley, they’d be traveling to the Stamford Bridge in London to face Frank Lampard’s blues side on the 11th of January.
On the same day, the Canaries will travel top Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the league with the hope of getting something against Ole Gunnar Solskajer led-team.
While Norwich are rooted on the table with 14 points in 21 games played, Burnley are sitted 15th with 22 points from 20 games.
