According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Paris Saint-Germain striker Neymar is willing to have his salary cut in half so he can rejoin Barça.
Neymar appeared in many newspaper front pages in Spain and according to reports, he makes around 52 million euros with PSG between his 39 million euros salary and the bonuses part of his deal.
Mundo Deportivo reports that Neymar is willing to accept a 20 million euros salary with different productivity clauses in his contract.
Neymar’s potential return to FC Barcelona has been a hot topic for over a year. He tried to leave Paris Saint-Germain last summer but the French team and Barça were not able to reach a deal.
It’s been rumored that bringing Neymar back is one of Barça’s priorities for next season. Keep in mind that when the Brazilian striker left the team in 2017, PSG paid 222 million euros for him, which made him the most expensive football player in history at the time.
Since then, many really look forward to reuniting FC Barcelona’s incredibly successful trio of Neymar, Luis Suárez and Lionel Messi. It’s also been said that Messi and the rest of the top players in Barça support the idea of having Neymar on the team again. Now FC Barcelona has to convince PSG to make it happen.
FC Barcelona president Sandro Rosell told Mundo Deportivo: “From a sporting point of view, I would sign Neymar (again).” He was asked why Messi wants Neymar to return and said: “Because Messi, who is the best player in the history of football and very smart, wants the best players in the world by his side in order to win everything.”
