Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglu has indicated that he will meet striker Harry Kane and present his plans to the English forward as Bayern Munich continues to pursue the 29-year-old.
Kane has a year left on his contract and scored 30 goals in the Premier League for the North Londoners last season. However, he has been extremely linked with an exit from Spurs as many expect Daniel Levy to cash in on his star forward, but that hasn’t happened with the chairman holding on to his star forward.
Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich have been heavily linked with Kane, but while the first two have pulled out, Bayern Munich’s latest €80M bid has been rejected, with the club sticking to holding on to the striker.
Ange Postecoglu, who joined from Celtic this summer, rates Kane highly and said he will introduce himself to the striker and relate his plans as the club’s new manager to the player.
. “Kane is one of the premier strikers in the world, and I want him involved here; I just want to introduce myself to Harry, give him my vision, get an understanding from him over what his vision is, and try to be successful. My conversation with him will be about how we can make this club successful, and there is no doubt that is what he wants as well. No, I haven’t had any assurances, and I wouldn’t expect any assurances. For me, I am trying to concentrate on what I know now, and Harry is part of the squad.” Ange Postecoglu said.
Kane’s 280 goals in 435 appearances make him Tottenham’s all-time record goalscorer, Postecoglou, on the other hand, became Tottenham’s manager in June after Antonio Conte was sacked in March.
After Conte’s sacking, Cristian Stellini was named interim manager but only lasted a month as Ryan Mason led the club for the rest of the season as Tottenham finished eighth in the Premier League.
