Celtic manager Neil Lennon has never had his admiration for his players, but he has singled out a particular player in the person of Odsonne Edouard and showered him praise after their 5-2 victory over Hibernian in the Scottish league cup semifinal clash last weekend.
The French under-21 international forward failed to register his name on the scoresheet that day [Saturday] as Mohamed Elyounoussi, Scott Brown, and McGregor saw off the Hibs. The Celtic Manager, however, created time to praise his players after they scaled through to.the final, which will see them face rivals Rangers at the National Stadium on Sunday, 8th of December.
The Hoops made history as they made it Thirty domestic cup ties which they are unbeaten and Lennon couldn’t hide his joy as he was delighted with his players achieving such a feat.
Lennon said that he was pleased and proud of his players. He also acknowledged how the new players are settling in and how brilliant they are. Their ability and capability have brought them this far, and he urged them to do more. He said, “I enjoy managing them as a team.”
Lennon went on and said, “Edouard is simply a joy to watch. He just discovered his form suddenly and burst into life. The way he dances past his opponents and finds a way out of a tight space is amazing. He made some amazing passes, but he was just unlucky to score himself”.
Edouard, at the age of 21, has some impressive abilities to lead the front line, and he has an eye for goal, he keeps getting better by game. Celtic has a good player at their disposal.
Neil Lennon will now focus on Thursday’s game as they travel to Italy to face Lazio at Olympic Stadium in Rome.
